Setting up lightdm with an attarctive greeter was something that I wanted when I found out I could do this on Arch. I tried many times to get the default "black only" pantheon-greeter to go away and display the background image I wanted. When I finally got what I wanted I was quite pleased. Here's the steps I took
installed "lightdm" with pacman
installed "pantheon-greeter-bzr" and it's proper dependencies from AUR
edited the proper files...
