Unhappy recordmydesktop is skipping frames

I'm using TMLinux, a PCLinuxOS derivative, and recordmydesktop is skipping most frames. recordmydesktop is 0.3.8.1

Another PCLOS user tell me the problem arose since libtheora upgraded to 1.1.0. Right now I'm using libtheora 1.1.1 but still no luck.

Anybody know how to fix this or even the cause of the problem?

heydo,
its easy to fix.
in gtk-recordmydesktop configurations window open the tab [MISK].
there is an field called "Extra Options".
here fill in --v_bitrate 2000000 . thats all!

this rate is the highest. you can try also lower values.
since libtheora >1.0.0 the --v_bitrate option is needed.

greetings wolke

edit:
oh i see you use the commandline.
here is an working example:
recordmydesktop -width 1024 -height 840 --v_quality 63 --v_bitrate 2000000 -o test.ogg

this will encode with the highest video quality.

Thank you very much wolke!

This is working very fine so I'll be contacting maintainers of the packages involved for the updates needed.
