i'm on red hat 9 (i have to keep this distro bc this is a test env for a prod env) and i'm trying to install openldap, but i got some errors during make test so i thought maybe i needed to install sasl rpm instead of building it from source (tgz from main sasl site) on top of an existing sasl, so i've just rebuilt sasl from a src rpm:
Code:
rpmbuild --rebuild cyrus-sasl-2.1.15-0.5.6.src.rpm
no errors were returned from what i can see.
so i run this:
Code:
rpm -Fvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/cyrus-sasl-*
and get the following errors:
Quote:
feil: Failed dependencies:
libdb-4.4.so is needed by cyrus-sasl-2.1.15-0.5.6
libdb-4.4.so is needed by cyrus-sasl-devel-2.1.15-0.5.6
|
when i locate libdb-4.4.so i get this:
Quote:
/lib/libdb-4.4.so
/usr/lib/libdb-4.4.so
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.4/lib/libdb-4.4.so
|
the first 2 are symbolic links to the last one.
any ideas as to why it doesn't find the .so file?
i've even added the berkeley lib folder to my
/etc/ld.so.conf and run
ldconfig and that didn't help.
Thanks
