Can I install Ubuntu in Kubuntu?

You can install Kubuntu in Ubuntu, I mean, install KDE in Ubuntu, typing "apt-get kubuntu" in the console. But can you install Gnome in Kubuntu? or Xfce?

I don't use Ubuntu, but I'm pretty sure I read a little while back that they all use the same software repos, so you should be able to install anything that comes on Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Xubuntu on Ubuntu, or any other combination.

yes, you can install multiple desktops

apt-get ubuntu-desktop

you will be able to choose your preferred desktop at each login to X.

I asked it 'cause I had Ubuntu 5.10 and I found that in the web, so I installed Kubuntu that way... and I prefered Gnome, but now... well, the point is that I'm donwloading Kubuntu 6.06 and, if I install it, I just wanted to know if I can install Gnome on it. Thank you for your answers.

$ sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop ---> KDE
$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop ---> GNOME
$ sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop ---> XFCE

In a matter of facts is not important which version of ubuntu you use. You can install ANY windows manager no matter where...
