cannot show single post

How do I get a single post to show instead of every post in the page/thread? I cannot seem to get it to work. I've gone to other forums where I am a member and copied-pasted their style of format in the address box to see if that would work but nothing seems to work. Little help.

Right clicking on the post number will give you a URL that goes right to a post within a thread. There's no way to just get a single post.

As an example, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...49#post2248649 will get you to the previous post.

That's unfortunate. But I found a round about way to get done what I wanted to do.

Out of curiosity, what are you trying to do that the link structure in post #3 won't allow you to?

I was trying to bring up just a single post so that I could then view it in "printer friendly" mode and print just that post. I had several options to get it done but hoped that there would be a simple one-button method to do it.
