Greetings;
I was attempting to do an install (RedHat 9, but tried 8 as well) on my new pc, via my standard boot to cd-rom drive. It does boot to the installer, but after asking for my language, it asks me to insert the cdrom (it can't find the optical drive presumably = even though it is using it at the time !). I also tried a boot image (floppy) but this has the same problem since it already booted to the optical drive (it just won't continue with the install). I assume I'm just doing something stupid but who knows...

Stuff i've got (I know some of this is questionable - but even getting through the install will be usefull at this point

Lite-On DVD+RW LDW-401S (tried using my Matshiata DVD-ROM from another machine with the same problem mentioned above)

(blank) Maxtor 6Y160P0 Ultra IDE 160 GB HD (entirely for linux) on HDA (master)

2xMaxtor SATA 150 GB (Raid0) - used only for XP

Asus (ATI) Radeon 9600XT 120MB video

Asus P4C800-E MB

dose it say something about isolinux and trying to wing it and can not find cd disk or some thing like that

I've also tried to disconnect my SATA drives and with RH9, it gets as far as loading the ide's then hangs (RH8 gets as far as mentioned above). I think part of the problem might be with the Maxtor 160 GB HD? Is there a limitation for RH with large drives?

Strange. Help would be welcome.
