Redhat Advanced Server2.1 with 8GB memory


Hi,
Can anybody suggest if Redhat Linux AS2.1 can handle 8GB of memory ?
Kernel Version: Linux version 2.4.9-e.3smp

I am not 100percent sure but I was thinking the limit is 4gig in that old of a kernel. Any reason using anything that old? If not I would defiantely look into a moderate release of 5 using newer 2.6 kernels. With 2.6 the limit is 32gig I think but that is on an x86 systems. Currently using 64bit system and know its limit is way up there.
