Package manager on RedHat

Hello there.
I'm actually using Mandrake Linux, but i'm a little tired about it...i've been 6 months and i think i know enough to move ahead to redhat.
I've barely try redhat on a friends house, and whenever he had to install a libreary package from the redhat distribution cd's, he looked for the package manually. Mandrake has a software instalation assitant that let's you find a certain package and tell's you to insert the cd number X that contains it. It also can download any package from the mandrake mirros. Does redhat have something like that?

Cheers.

Hi,

Yep, 'redhat-config-packages' You can choose the package you want to install, and will ask you if you want it to install the dependencies aswell.

In addition to that, there are freely available prebuilt package tools for Red Hat Linux, e.g. Yum, APT-RPM and Synaptic (a GUI), as provided by http://fedora.us and similar package sources.

As an interesting tidbit, when you install the rpmdb-redhat package, rpm with option --aid will pick up needed packages automatically, provided that you have all packages in the current directory.
