HI Everybody. I am TVK, new member to this forum. I installed Red Hat Linux WS3 recently in my desktop PC. I found out I have no sound in my system. I have sound blaster16 sound card installed in the system. My sound card detection worked fine. I heared the test sound. But when I play a video from the news program, there is no sound. No sound coming from my cd players either.
/var/log/messages give the following messages:
Mar 31 10:05:10 localhost kernel: es1371: Enabling internal amplifier.
Mar 31 10:05:10 localhost kernel: ac97_codec: AC97 Audio codec, id: (Unknown)
Mar 31 10:05:10 localhost modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-0-3
Mar 31 11:13:59 localhost kernel: cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!
I appreciate your help to fix this problem.
Thank you, TVK.
