Needed for Sat Int RHat 9 with 2.4.20

The satellite pci card for my 1 way sat connection is set up in Win at the moment.
I would like to set up under Linux so I can d/load updates etc thru Sat rather than dial up.
The only drivers available are compiled for RH 9 or Mdk 9.2 on kernel 2.4.20.
My preference is RH9. Where would I get/dload a copy? Any other thoughts? suggestions? I'm open to anything that will get the Sat connection working under Linux.

Location to download Red Hat 9 - LQ ISOs. You could also install using the ftp option from ftp.redhat.com or download the contents to a directory on another machine and use NFS.

It suprises me that the Sat driver is only in the 2.4.20 kernel. Have you already checked to see if you can configure and compile your own 2.6.xx kernel for FC4 or Mandrake 10.1 with the driver installed or as a module? That would be my suggestion rather than going with an older Linux version.

Bill

After posting I happen to run into Sat (Satellite Technology) HOWTO while I was on the net. Not sure if it will help, but perhaps it is worth a look see.

Thanks
I've never compiled my own kernel but I had thought about it.
If I can get it going under the older kernel I have at least the option to get away from WinXP. Then dual boot to FC4 on my other drive & try the compile there without compromising my working connection.

Thanks again for your help
tony
