Hi there --
One of our systems is running in a dual boot environment with Red Hat 9 and Windows XP Professional as the operating systems. The GRUB boot loader is the device used for the dual boot.
The Red Hat 9 operating system is unable to complete the boot process, but the Windows XP environment is working without a problem. The problem with the former occurs during the boot process. The errors shown below indicate the problem:
Quote:
ext3: No journal on filesystem
mount error 22 mounting ext3
pivotroot: pivot-root (sysroot,sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
umount /initrd/proc failed: 2
kernel panic: No init found Try passing init= option to kernel

The kernel in question is the 2.4.20-8smp release. What steps do I need to take in order to correct this problem? Thanks.
