Question Issues running Openoffice.org 2.0 in RHEL

Hi all,

I downloaded and installed the RPMs for OpenOffice.org 2.0 from the website, with no errors. However, when I try to run soffice from the command line, or when I try to click one of the shortcuts, nothing happens. No error messages or anything, it just hangs at the command line. Any ideas what the issue is?

I am running Redhat enterprise linux 4. I removed openoffice 1.1.2.

Thanks,

I believe the issue is that I am running a 64-bit version of rehdat. Apparently they are still working on making the appropriate binaries.
Thanks anyway for the help!

That's not an issue, the 32-bit version runs just fine as long as the required 32-bit libs are installed. the 64-bit counterparts are also needed.

$ cat /etc/*release
CentOS release 4.3 (Final)

$ uname -a
Linux Aspire5000 2.6.17.7 #1 Tue Jul 25 11:26:01 EDT 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

$ rpm -qa --qf="%{n}-%{v}-%{r}.%{arch}.rpm\n" 'openoffice.org*' | sort
openoffice.org-base-2.0.3-7.i586.rpm
openoffice.org-calc-2.0.3-7.i586.rpm
<snip, you get the idea)
