installing multiple languages

Hi-

During the installation of RHEL WS4, I was asked what languages I wanted installed. At the time I selected only English. Of course now I have reason to do testing in other languages.

Is it possible to install the other languages after the initial install? I ran the Add/Remove Packages but I don't see the language support in there. Maybe it is and I'm blind.

Thanks!

No, you are not blind (unless me too). I am also facing the same problem.

Can anybody be kind enough to help us?

This page explains that I can choose additional languages if I run the installation CD and select upgrade.

I was never given the option to select additional languages. I ran the installation CD, selected upgrade, it asked me if I wanted to install a boot loader, then it started "upgrading". I did't select anything so I'm not really sure why it "upgraded" me.

In the file

/etc/sysconfig/i18n

edit this line:

SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en"

with the languages you want to add. Or if you want all the languages possible, remove the line.

This worked for me.

From: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_80_364.shtm

Caution: If you select only one language, you can only use that specified language after the installation is complete. If you plan to use more than one language at any point, make sure to install it during system installation as there is currently no good way to install additional languages after the system has been installed.

So not really resolved... just no answer
