How can I install yum and depencies on RHEL 4


Hi,
I am using RHEL 4 Desktop. I want to install Yum and its dependecies on this and set it up in a way that it can update from other Fedora Core 3/centos repositories. How can I use apt to install yum and its depencies. Please help !!

Why do you want to use yum? if your RHEL is a legal you can use up2date instead of yum or if you are using a illegal RHEL I strongly suggest you to consider using CentOS.

You def could do that take a look at this

install yum-2.4.2-0.4.el4.rf.noarch.rpm from http://dag.wieers.com/packages/yum/
then take a look at http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/FAQ.php#B4

this should work just fine however if you need extra repos go to
http://dries.ulyssis.org/rpm/clientconfig.html
