home directory being locked

hi,
i have rhe5.4 ,in my system the user a\c is not working while iam login in to root not able to login as a user and in root it shows the (X)mark not able to open this also .....

Erm... come again?? Saying something is just "Not working" really is of no use to anyone. We need proper descriptions, error messages etc. It shows the (X)mark?? what mark?? where? We aren't psychic. look in log files in /var/log e.g. messages and secure.

@soundar: please, rephrase your issue and provide more details to let us help you. It's really strange that root cannot access a user's home directory, even through the file manager. I'd start to check permissions and the SElinux attributes given to the user's home.
