HELP?!?!?! I can't send mail through my ISP's server.

Can anyone help me?
I'm trying to get mail out through my ISP's SMTP server but I can't figure out how to tell sendmail to authenticate with a username and password.

Please, I've been searching and reading but I'm coming up short.

I am running Red Hat 9

I don't know if this will help you, but take a look here:

It also says this:

"You are using Red Hat Linux version 7.x, 8.0, or 9, Aurora Linux version 1.0, or Fedora Core release 1 as your operating system".

Thanks for the effort but that was opposite of what I need.
I need sendmail to send a username and password to another mail server and send mail through it. What I read from your link was for having users authenticate to relay through sendmail.
