Getting Government SmartCard to work on RHEL 5.10

Hello,

I am trying to get U.S. government smartcards to work on a RHEL 5.10 distribution. The machine recognizes the smart card and allows the user to enter their pin. When attempting to authenticate the smartcard, it returns a sctool error -254. The machine is joined to an AD domain using Centrify. Thank you for your help.

Sctool is a Centrify utility, not a Linux utility. You'd probably have better luck diagnosing the error on their message board.

I agree, although I did end up solving the issue on my own. There was a significant amount of latency on the network that was preventing the client from downloading all of the necessary cert. The solution was to scp over the certs manually.
