file system freeze

Hi I have a RAID array on a 3ware card, and when i try and setup linux up with the following partitions it freezes.

The partitions are as follows:
Device size(M) mount point
/dev/sda1 101 /boot (ext3)
/dev/sda2 1992 swap
/dev/sda3 102800(100gb) / (ext3)
/dev/sda4 411200(400gb) /disk1 (ext3)
/dev/sda5 roughly(600gb) /disk2 (ext3)

The total capacity before partitioning is 1.2tb(1200gb)

any suggestions?
