Fatal server error Caught signal 11 Server aborting

I tried to upgrade Python on my RHEL WS 4.0 system. The installation seems to have overwritten some library files causing inconsistency, and failure of KDE & X windows. The system boots up alright and can be used using command line, but XKeepsCrashing. What should I do?

Downgrade to previous version. Use /var/log/apt-... (someting like that) to see what they were, download them manually and then reinstall them using "-force" option.

Or better yet, call Red Hat support for guidance.
