hi.....dears........... i m facing problem on installing the rh9 when i reached at the step of "disk partitioning setup"..the following error accorded "An error has occurred-no valid devices were found on which to create new files systems. Plz check your hardware for the cause of this problem"....when i m try to install FC-4 this work fine....plz them the solution of this...thinkx...
If FC4 does it and RH 9 doesn't its likely because you don't have the driver in the ancient RH 9. For a new install you should use at least FC3 as it is the successor to RH9 (non-commercial - RH EL AS is the commercial successor).
Try FC3 and if that doesn't work you'll need to determine what your controller and disks are then verify the drivers are available in FC3 (or just go to FC4 if you can).
RH9 is no longer supported by Redhat and indeed it does not have drivers for newer hardware like SATA for example. Is there a reason you have to use RH9 instead of FC4?
