Error with Isql / unixODBC / MySQL

Hi Everyone

Could anyone offer any assistance with the following issue I am having?

Redhat (Cobalt Raq 3i), MySQL - already installed and working fine.
I first of all started installing MyODBC and got stuck as it didn't seem to work. I then found out that I needed to install unixODBC first.
I have worked through the installation and all seems to be OK. However...
When I tried the following command:
$ isql -v validdsnname dbusername dbpassword

I get the following message:
BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so: dynamic-link.h: 57: elf_get_dynamic_info: Assertion `! "bad dynamic tag"' failed!

Does anyone know what this message means?

Is there any other way of testing if unixODBC is working?
Thanks
Freddy
