Configuring Wireless Internet using Network Configuration Window difficulties
I've never tried to configure a wireless network device in RedHat before. Apparently when installed, RedHat configured enough so that my wired internet works. In the Devices tab, I see Device: eth0, Type: Ethernet. I suppose that's the wire connection. There is no mention of anything wireless. Then, in the Hardware tab, there are two listings:
1) Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection, Type: Ethernet, Device: eth0, Status: ok. (I don't understand why this is called eth0 and classified as ethernet as opposed to wireless, when on the first page it seems as though the wired internet I'm using is called eth0)
The second listing in the Hardware tab is:
2) Marvell Technology Group 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller, Type: Ethernet, Device: peth0, Status: ok.
If in the devices tab I hit new and choose wireless connection, the intel wireless 4965agn is absent. But if I go to new and hit ethernet, the wireless card is listed.
I'm a newbie, but it seems RedHat has classified my wireless network adapter as a wired connection or something, and if I try to add new hardware selecting wireless as the type, my adapter is not in the list...
I have NO idea what to do.
