Question Accesing Creative Nomad USB storage device?

Hi people, I have a Creative Labs Nomad USB storage device which also plays MP3 files. I have RH8 and the system is able to detect the device, but the problem is I'm not able to access the files I have stored in it. How do I do this task?

As always, thank you for you help!

Exclamation I try it out!

Thanks maxut, I will try it tonight. But, by doing this it will automatically recognize the device? Do I have to do this every time I boot the system?

Thanks,

P.S. are you able to get any updates for RH8, if this is true where?

not automaticly.. u have to mount manually everytime.. or i dont know if there s a way to mount automaticly usb storage devices.. never forget to umount b4 unplugging..

u should use up-to-date tool.. another way u can download update packets from ftp servers. and update rpm pakects manually. ftp://updates.redhat.com.. but manually update wont be easy?

Question Update?

Thanks friend, I have not yet tried mounting the USB device. But, I'm curious about the ftp site that you provided me. Which folder shoud I use to download updates? I went to: ftp://updates.redhat.com../8.0/en/os/. So which folder should I choose? I have a RH8 on a Intel pentium II. And how do you install these updates, are they updated automatically-maybe not- and which rpm is the most important to update??? I have never updated my RH8 so I don't have a clue how to do it!

Thanks again you are very helpful!!

i have tried to update my rh 8.0 manually.. i failed to update glibc manually.. i got some errors about module depencies..

try to update your linux with redhat network program.. first update it. download it from
ftp://updates.redhat.com/8.0/en/os/i...7.2-1.i386.rpm
ftp://updates.redhat.com/8.0/en/os/i...7.2-1.i386.rpm

update them:
rpm -Fvh up2date*
after that register your linux from redhat.. u should see an red icon placed at system clock.. double click on it then register and get updates. it will isntall updates automaticly.
