[RHEL 6.0] Deadlock in malloc (glibc-2.12-1.25)

Hi!

Have written a program that reads and interprets one or more files.
Quite randomly the process get stuck and never quits and I have to kill it and when restarted, it runs for a while and then it hangs again.

This is the bt from gdb:

[ids@venom bin]$ gdb idsremote 1637
GNU gdb (GDB) Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7.1-29.el6_0.1)
<a lot of debug crap>
(gdb) bt
#0 0x0000003b3cef0dce in __lll_lock_wait_private () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#1 0x0000003b3ce7c138 in _L_lock_9164 () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#2 0x0000003b3ce79a32 in malloc () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#3 0x0000003b3ca0e125 in _dl_signal_error () from /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
#4 0x0000003b3ca0e2ea in _dl_signal_cerror () from /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
#5 0x0000003b3ca0a1ea in _dl_lookup_symbol_x () from
/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
#6 0x0000003b3cf1f08d in call_dl_lookup () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#7 0x0000003b3ca0e016 in _dl_catch_error () from /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
#8 0x0000003b3cf1f399 in do_sym () from /lib64/libc.so.6
#9 0x0000003b3d2010c4 in dlsym_doit () from /lib64/libdl.so.2
#10 0x0000003b3ca0e016 in _dl_catch_error () from /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2

When searching a bit, I came across https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=676591 that describes the same problem.

In that particular bug, it says the bug is fixed in glibc-2.12-1.34.el6 (but the bug it self is not fixed!)

But if looking further, there is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712406 (which has been copied from the other) it says it's fixed in glibc-2.12-1.7.el6_0.8.

On my installation I had glibc-2.12-1.7.el6_0.3 so I upgraded to glibc-2.12-1.25.el6.x86_64 but the problem still remains.

Any tips?

I couldn't find any solution to the problem, so I did a full update to 6.1.

Have done some testruns and the problems seems to be solved in 6.1
