I have installed puppy(2.11)so many times now I lost count.
I have tried using both lilo and grub,and 2 different versions of Puppy.
This is the closest I have got to it actually booting so far.
I get the error 13 message:invalid or unsupported executable format.
It is on hdb6,formatted as reiserfs.Grub(from the universal installer on the cd)is installed to the root of hdb6.
My entries in master grub are
title Puppy
root (hd1,5)
chainloader +1
I can see the installation of puppy on hdb5 from another distro.
What is going on here?
Why is Puppy so hard to install?
Any help in getting any closer to fixing this would be appreciated.

in grub:

title Puppy2
rootnoverify (hd0,8)
kernel (hd0,8)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/ram0 PMEDIA=idehd
initrd (hd0,8)/boot/initrd.gz

and vmlinuz and initrd.gz under hda9 and the boot folder.

and the pup_211.sfs MUST be under hda9/ in this case. You cant have it in a folder or with a symbolic link.

And one can save messing with the MBR repeatedly by installing Smart Boot Manager to the MBR. Then when you change an installation in a partition you install the distro loader to the partition superblaock (as you did) and tell SBM to rescan the records when you boot to it.
