kernel problem when booting puppy from a Flash Drive

I downloaded puppy linux to put on my Flash Drive. When I transfered it to my flash drive I saw that vmlinux didnt have an extension. I downloaded it again but it was the same way. The MD5 checksums were different to. It was the latest version 4.1.2.
When I ran it on my other computer It kept saying the kernel was invalid and it loops that error as if it keeps trying again and again.
Any help? I downloaded 4.1.1. to see if that works.
I am using this part of the puppy linux wiki:
http://www.puppylinux.org/wiki/how-t...py-usb-windows

I get a similar problem when i try to burn it to CD except the CD says that it can't read a certain sector, and it just loops that and another sector error over and over until the machine is shut down.

*****************************************FIXED IT!!!**********************************************

From an unexperianced point of view, it sounds like the files your downloading are corrupt. How did you download them? I'd recommend using a torrent as they automatically check the integrity of what your downloading. When buring the CD you need to make sure that you burn it at the right speed and make sure buffers don't run out or that could also corrupt the file. What did the MD5 checksums tell you? how were they different? I'm not too familier with them but its useful to know these sorts of things, hopefully someone else will know.
