how does one enter a command in terminal in Puppy?

I recently installed Puppy Slacko 6.3.0 and wanted to change the default format for Abiword.

I referred to http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/chang...ord-processor/
but ran into difficulties when I realized Puppy does not use the sudo command, and that I do not have a password.

I tried exec /usr/share/abiword-3.0/system.profile
but received Permission denied.

Any suggestions?

In a terminal, run the command "whoami." That should tell you what user you are running as (I think it may be root).

Also, I don't think system.profile is an executable file; I suspect it's a text file. Running this command should tell you what type of file it is:

Code:
file /usr/share/abiword-3.0/system.profile

what the link is telling you to do is edit the file and because puppy is already root this will work
Code:
nano /usr/share/abiword-3.0/system.profile
to edit the file. nano is a command line text editor.
