WSDL2Java issue (Using Apache Axis)

Hello,

I am trying to generate Java code from some WSDL files using Apache Axis. I have read the documentation on the Apache Axis website and the following command is stated for generating the java code:

java org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java AddressBook.wsdl

I have set the classpath in the current term window by typing the following:

set CLASSPATH="$CLASSPATH:/home/user/axis-1_4/lib/axis.jar:/home/user/axis-1_4/lib/jaxrpc.jar:/home/user/axis-1_4/lib/saaj.jar:/home/user/axis-1_4/lib/commons-logging-1.0.4.jar:/home/user/axis-1_4/lib/wsdl4j-1.5.1.jar"

However, when I type the command as stated in the Axis documentation I get the following message:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/axis/wsdl/WSDL2Java

It seems that the classes cannot be found, what have I overlooked? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this the right way by using Apache Axis? Suggestions and tips are very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Grts.

Hi

I dont know, but are you sure the classpath gets set correctly?

I'm not sure about all shells, but I usually use export instead of set when declaring an environment variable (using bash).

Another way to do it:
export CLASSPATH=`find /home/user -name "*.jar" -printf "%h%f:"`$CLASSPATH
- Will add all .jar files in your home directory to the CLASSPATH, in case you forgot some.

Hope this helps,
Guttorm.
