winsock2.h - No such file or directory


Recently change to linux, trying to compile some .c program with gcc
but getting error winsock2.h: No such file or directory
Question: how do i get this library in linux so that i can compile it ?

You don't - "winsock2" is a Windows header file, for Windows clone of BSD sockets.

You'll have to port your Winsock app to "true" sockets. Fortunately, it's fairly trivial to do. Here's an example (search for "winsock"):
