Why "python setup.py install"? Since it always gives troubles with dependencies?

Hello,

Why "python setup.py install"? Since it always gives troubles with dependencies?
I am wondering why we arent being stick to the usual ./configure ; make ; make install.

I mean python installation are source of more troubles for installing.
Is there agreements within Linux so that we make things easier to compile from source. Python installation has to be improved by far

Regards

Even when doing:
Code:
./configure ; make ; make install
You still run into dependency issues. The thing to do is to check the package requirements before compiling or in the case of python installing.
