What is STDCL?

I am reading about a board called Parallella and specifically software to drive it. The STDL, STandarD Compute Layer is mentioned. I found the acronym in several documents, but always used and never explained. Where can I find an explanation?

That was unexpected. I think it is something I was looking for, but didn't know it.
Thank you for your time.
