What is linux programmed in...


Hi, i was wondering what program language linux was programed in.

If you mean the kernel, it's written in C.

and the rest of it can be written in pretty much anything you can think of.

You wanna be a kernel hacker? Learn C.
You wanna learn to program? Pick one and go with it.

also i was wondering, were would i 'learn' linux likewhat to do if it crashes, how to fix it and blah blah blah

linux? crash? (hehehe. it's actually quite rare)

If it's an application that crashes

If it's an application that crashes try using gdb if it has debugging data included. (compile with the gcc/g++ -g flag)That way if you run an app with gdb, it says precisely where and why it crashed there. (works best on C/C++ applications i think...)
