Unix script for Oracle database

Please help me in creating the below unix script to run in oracle database .

I need a script which should do the following things.

1. The script should insert row count of a table from one database(A) into table (AB) in another database(B).
2. The script should update tow count of the similar table and tablespace from database (B) in to a table AB.
3. The script should update the status column of the table AB as:
'Y' if the rowcount of the table@A and rowcount of the table@B matching. or else it should update 'N'

Thank in advance

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

LQ is all about helping people to solve/answer any problem/question they might have concerning Linux and related issues. We are not in the habit of doing the work for you. So, you should start writing a script and testing it. When it fails, that's when you turn to LQ for answers and help. We don't provide ready made solutions, step by step guides, and so on.

In my signature there's a link you should click, it's called How to ask a question. First of all, don't use 'Help me' as title for your thread, that doesn't tell us anything about your problem and doesn't draw attention to your issue. On the contrary, LQ users hardly read those posts and if they do it's to post answers like I'm posting now. Apart from that you should provide a lot more information, like what distro/version are you using? What have you tried/written? It goes like this:

Show us what you've got and tell us where it's failing or where you have trouble understanding. That's how LQ works at its best.

Kind regards,

Eric

Thumbs up Welcome & good luck

rparthas,

Let me add my welcome to LQ. I hope you find here the answers you seek.

Please don't be discouraged by John VV's & EricTRA's comments -- they are both right & both are trying to help you help yourself, learn how to fit in here at LQ, & perhaps stay out of trouble w/ your teacher . So, as EricTRA says:
Quote:
Show us what you've got and tell us where it's failing or where you have trouble understanding. That's how LQ works at its best.
We'll be glad to help you figure it out. However, this is a collaboration & we expect you do do your share of the work.

BTW, I heartily recommend the "How to ask ..." article Eric links to, as well as re-reading the LQ Rules. Especially:
Quote:
  • Do not expect LQ members to do your homework - you will learn much more by doing it yourself.

Finally, this is a programming question, so:

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Programming and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

P.S. ...

P.S., I changed your title as part of the move -- Eric is right about "Help Me" being unhelpful. I hope the change gets this more & better attention.
