Stupid GCC!

For whatever reason (it just kind of...happened all of a sudden, didn't mess with my links or anything) I get this whenever I try to compile a small source file...

bash-2.05b$ cc hmmdeedum.c
cc: installation problem, cannot exec `as': No such file or directory

Methinks "as" is a link to some kind of assembler that I don't know the name of, and somehow deleted. A push in direction would be very cool (I have the feeling it's something really obvious )

Thanks in advance,

dogn00dles

NAME
AS - the portable GNU assembler.

In Slack it's part of the binutils-package...
