I'm using Kdevelop or Qt that come along with Redhat 7.3 to develop interface.

I only manage to write some simple program like pop up dialogue box.

Now my question:

Can you guys direct me to sites which has lotsa codes on Linux development.

Problem:

I trying something stupid, I ran 'top' command in Linux and I'm trying to make that run on an interface that have several other functions.

Please help.

Thank you.

IMO it would help to really study some good kde/Qt tutorial, apart from learning C++ if you need to.

For C++ there's the free electronic book "Thinking in C++":

For Qt, there's two tutorials. About two years ago I did the first one and I liked it. If you installed Qt, they are probably on your harddisk. Anyways, here are their URL's for Qt v3.2.1:

Try reading about the /proc filesystem for making such a program. There's "man proc" which has quite a lot of information.
