Shell compatibility


Okay, perhaps a little over paranoid, but does the command

Code:
LIB="$LIB other_lib other_lib"
Work on all bourne shells? (Not just bash?)

Yes! Every one I've ever used, anyway in the last 20 years lol. Although I'd put ${LIB} myself, but that's probably just being a bit picky. And I guess be a bit careful about the case where the original $LIB is empty.
