running mysql queries on a different machine in php


Hello everybody,

I am wondering if it is possible to run mysql query on a different machine using PHP.

I want to run 2 different applications in 2 different machines using the same mysql.

I would be glad if you give me some direction for thus purpose.

Don't forget to configure permissions for remote host

It's also worth noting that (for very good security reasons) mysql logons are per-host. If you want a remote computer to use mysql, you might need to explicitly grant permissions to that user/hostname.
