Programming my Palm
I am interested in developing applications for my (and other people's) Palm Pilot(s). I would like to use free/OS software for development. Any language is fine, but C++ and Python are preferable. Searches on Google and Sourceforge tun up little that I think can help me. There is a C compiler on SF, but it needs a commercial resource compiler to run.
So, I guess my questions are 3:
1) Can I just use GCC to compile the code? And if so, where can I find the Palm API's?
2) If I can't use GCC, what other tools are out there?
3) Is there a Palm Emulator so that I don't risk hosing my Zire with bad code?
As far as tools go, I have both Linux and Windows, so platform is not a problem.
