Process cannot get more memory

Hello,

I have three dual processor servers. Each have Redhat 9.0 on them. The processors are Intel Xeon. They each have 4GB of RAM. I have a process which needs lots of memory. If I do "top" the virtual memory requirement of this process goes upto 1.8GB. The process always runs successfully on one server and runs sometimes on the other two. It always runs fine when virt memory is 1.6GB when I ask for 200MB more the process fails on two servers but the OS allocates it on one server.

I have no clue why it fails on two servers when everything is similar.

Any clues ???

Thanks

You may find they actually have slightly differnet kernel versions. Try this cmd:
uname -a
on each box.
