Problem with GDB

Hi all,

I am facing a quite strange behaviour of my program. In this one, I use sem_timedwait to make some tasks sleep waiting for work to do. When I directly launch the executable, it works. That means that the program waits for the timeout before proceeding. But when I launch the executable with GDB, it seems that the semaphore instantly returns with timeout. I don't understand what's the difference when I launch my executable whith GDB or directly from the console.

I use GDB 6.8.

Is there something known about gdb or do I have forgotten something ??

Thanks,

I'm no GDB expert, but after a while of getting 'nothing' from a diagnostic, I realised when I started GDB it was telling me to install extra diagnostic packages for a fuller picture when using certain includes.

Maybe nothing, but worth a review...

Thanks for the answer. When I launch GDB, I have no such message... But it tells me "using libthread_db enabled". I don't know if it is normal or if it has something to do with my problem.

If someone has a suggestion...

Thanks
