multiple threaded programing


hi folks,
Am a bioinformatics/genetics student and am interested in multiple threaded programming. Does anyone know a good tutorial for a beginner?

thanks will give both a try. Really at this point, am interested in developing alternative approaches to increase the speed and efficiency of our server.

of course, don't forget the cons:
