login only once for web site

When I go to a website (e.g. yahoo), it ask me to login only once by entering user id and password.
I want to do the same for my website.
How to do that?
I plan to use javascript and php for my website.

Typically, this is accomplished by your website setting a cookie for the site, which contains all the users login information, once the user has logged in. Once they have logged in once, the cookie will exist until they, or your website, delete it. And from then on, the website can check for the cookie, and load the users login information from it.

A google search for javascript and cookies
A google search for cookies and php
