Hello .. I am also interested in kernel programming and have been reading an O'rielly book on device drivers by Alessandro.
However I have been facing certain problems.
I have tried to compile a sample code on an i686 P4 machine. I have tried it on Redhat 7.3 as well as on Redhat 9.0.
On both these distributions, I get an error message that my compiler version and my kernel version don't match and so I can't insmod the .o file that I creat.
Does anybody have a solution!!!!!!!!!!
