jre installation

Hi All,

First I need to admit that I have not worked with java and not aware of jre installation and other java related stuff.

I found the steps to install jre 1.4 and above from java.com.

But before that how to identify the current jre version that am using ?

Thanks

Just use the version switch:
Code:
/path/to/your/java -version

You could also go to your package manager, and check out the version there.
