A little late response, but since you've got no replies, here goes:

Nope, that's not necessary, because jre and netbeans will be installed in different directories and the jre included with netbeans won't be set to your path unless you tell otherwise (there's a directory called jre inside netbeans installation).

However, it's wise to remove jre and use the one included with Netbeans and save redundant files, thus some MB from your HD . But as I said, you dont have to if you don't want.

hello again iv allso now downloaded midnight commander can u give me any tips on using it
please
I think it's pretty clear: At the bottom of screen you see what the shortcuts does: F4 = Edit, F5 = Copy, F6 = Move, etc... However, for more detailed info, check out this:

hello megaman thanks 4 ur reply like u said a little late but better late than never but my problem now is my "link" to my mozilla plugins dir if i get an error message saying file exists surely i have installed it properly so why does it still not show up in mozilla
allso when i go in to my mozilla plugins dir and click on "libjavaplugin_oji.so "
i get another messasge saying "This link can't be used, because its target "/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_02j2sdk1.4.2_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so" doesn't exist. Do you want to move this link to the Trash?"
now i dont understand why i get this error message because i installed "j2sdk1.4.2_04"
not "j2sdk1.4.2_02"
