Question Java at is best under linux....?

I need help please !

Hello, I am a newbee at Linux.

I am looking for the best EDI for JAVA on a Linux platform. I want to test the different fonctionnality and performance of the two world. I'am actually on a win 2000 platform on a PIII 900 mhz 512 MB ram disk space is not a problem. The EDI must have compatibility with Javabeans Active X Debog capability for Client/server Distributed apps (COM model) Transactional component teamwork capability and WFC class. Also compatible to Visual SourceSafe 6.0 and oracle 8i. I use the JDK version 1.4.

If anybody can help I will sure appreciate.

The best Environment for Developing that's Integrated is Emacs in the java mode.

It enforces indentation and syntax highlighting and is quick and has light and airy feeling. A bit like smelling the sea on a warm day from a car.

To invoke it, type:

% emacs MyJavaFile.java

and it will switch into java mode.
