You can do this by using:

CTRL + V

This keyboard shortcut will paste your most recent item from your clipboard to wherever you want... forum post, email document, notepad, etc.

Is this program possible in linux?

Depending on your distribution/DE/WM you might be able to assign an other shortcut.

Oh, so this is for just one program in particular?

Anyway...

Most terminals use CTRL+Shift+V.

And as for what you're actually asking: you might try setting a window manager key to execute something like the following:

That surprises me. I had CentOS on quite a few of my systems a few years back and never had any issue using CTRL + V.

It would help to know what program you refer to.

Lightbulb Wild guess: try: Shift + Insert (worked for terminal)

Welcome to LQ! (I followed you to this Thread, from your greeting to Lendal, in NewMembersIntro, my favorite forum.)

Wild guess: try: Shift + Insert (with what you want to paste *highlighted*; no copy)

I just found that for the Terminal, for my new YUMI flashdrive of Slax!!!
(I'm amazed how well and FAST it makes my old $20 Asus 1005PE Win7 WORK!
btw, modprobe [-r then] psmouse proto=exps got 'tap' to work; GoBackWithBackspace extension for Chrome. ...I wonder IF 'persistance' will work... )

Hope to hear back from you... (Yes, more specifics: IF exact info [detailed steps] are provided, so others can reproduce the problem, it will likely get solved!!!)

^That would be my wild guess, too.

Autohotkey-please-make-it-work-on-Linux questions pop up every now and then. There's a few threads like this already, here's the latest. Dear OP, please read it.
