Question Is there's a number in windows like the inode in linux?


hi guys,

I know, maybe I put this a wrong place, but I also want to have a try!
for that I really need help!
anyone know that the ntfs's file sytem struct? is there's a API or
something other could let me get this number? Or there is actually no
such number in windows like the number of inode in linux??

any suggestion could be ok! thks!

Yes, many aspects of the NTFS file structure are documented (e.g. on MSDN).

No, there is no equivalent of an "inode" in NTFS.

And yes, there are APIs for managing low-level details of all Microsoft filesystems, including NTFS. These are completely documented on MSDN:
