interrupt handling...


Hi all,
i have some doubts regarding bottom half approach of interrupt handling using tasklet or work-queue and normal interrupt handling mechanism... i would like u to give ur opinion in the usage of the 2 mentioned approaches and their merits and de merits over each other.... please gimme some links or tutorials or ur experiences reagarding this...

Same problem

hi....
iam also newbie for the interrupt concept....but somehow i understood the concept and API's from Linux kernel development and LDD3 books....bottom half handler will run on enabling all other interrupts in the device whereas top half will run immediately once the interrupt handler called after disabling all the interrupt of the device....
i get strucked with running my handler after registering the IRQ with the kernel...if u have any idea abt this or u have succeeded with your things ...pls share with me...

Hi rjsiva...
u need to register ur interrupt handler in open or init module....after registering,in the handler funciton i.e. in the bottom half of the handler u need to sync the top half...this top half will be handled by the scheduler at later on...
