How to monitor web server, FTP server, Mail server and database server

how to monitor web server, FTP server, mail server, and database server?? is there any command to monitor them? i use iptraf to monitoring ftp. i've try using monit and tcptrace. but my monitrc file is doesn't exist. i cannot find it.
if i use tcptrace my computer say that i can't install because the C cannot compile my pcap.
what should i do?

i use fedora core 6 for my computer.
